Our Core Privacy Commitment

At Learn With Atlas, we believe educational spaces must be sacred. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of student data ethics: we never sell student data, we never run third-party advertisements, and we never profile students for commercial monetization.

1. Scope and Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Learn With Atlas(“Learn With Atlas,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and discloses personal information through our educational tutoring platform, web interfaces, and mobile-accessible services (the “Platform”).

This policy applies to all users of Learn With Atlas, including learners (“Students”), parents and legal guardians (“Parents”), verified educators (“Tutors”), and school administrators.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information strictly necessary to provide high-quality, personalized pedagogy and ensure student safety:

  • Account Identification: Full name, email address, role (student, parent, tutor), academic grade (e.g., Class 9), and curriculum board (e.g., CBSE, ICSE).
  • Guardian Contact Details: Parent email and mobile phone number used to transmit daily academic progress summaries, session links, and consent requests.
  • Learning Interactions & Notes: Questions submitted to the AI tutor, digital ink strokes drawn on our chalkboard canvas, chapter reading positions, and practice quiz answers.
  • Voice & Audio Data: Audio streams generated during live voice sessions with the AI teacher or human tutors. Audio is processed solely for real-time pedagogical comprehension and safety replay archiving.
  • Technical Telemetry: Device browser type, IP address, and session diagnostic logs necessary to maintain low-latency WebSocket connections and prevent platform abuse.

3. How We Use Student Information

All information collected by Learn With Atlas is used exclusively for legitimate educational purposes:

  • Delivering personalized, syllabus-grounded tutoring answers based on the student's textbook.
  • Calculating chapter mastery projections and recommending practice questions for upcoming exams.
  • Providing parents with full transparency into daily learning progress and tutor notes.
  • Facilitating scheduled live sessions between students and certified educators.
  • Ensuring platform integrity, student safety, and compliance with our Terms of Service.

4. Protection of Children's Privacy (COPPA & DPDP Act)

Learn With Atlas takes the protection of young learners with the utmost seriousness, adhering to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, and international child data standards:

  • Verifiable Parental Consent: Accounts for minor students require parental registration or acknowledgment before paid bookings or interactive communications commence.
  • Parental Rights: Parents have the right at any time to review the personal information Learn With Atlas has collected from their child, request its correction or deletion, and refuse further data collection.
  • Restricted Direct Messaging: Students cannot engage in unmonitored private text messaging with tutors outside of supervised, recorded classroom sessions.

5. Zero Third-Party Advertising Policy

We firmly reject the ad-driven business model in education. Learn With Atlas does not:

  • Sell, rent, monetize, or lease student personal data to third parties under any circumstances.
  • Allow third-party advertising networks to track students across our Platform.
  • Use student essays, voice recordings, or homework questions to build behavioral advertising profiles.

6. Security & Infrastructure

We protect educational records with layered controls, and we are moving our hosting to Google Cloud in the Mumbai region (asia-south1) so student data stays in India:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data between the student's device and Learn With Atlas is sent over TLS.
  • Encryption at Rest: On Google Cloud, databases, textbook files and student notebooks are encrypted at rest by default.
  • Access Control: Access to production data is restricted to essential authorized personnel using role-based access control (RBAC).
  • AI Providers: Student questions are processed by our AI model providers (Google Gemini, with OpenAI as a backup) under their business API terms, with the strictest safety settings for minors. We do not use children's conversations to train models without consent.

7. Data Retention & Deletion Requests

We retain educational records only for as long as an active account exists or as necessary to fulfill the educational objectives of the student.

Users, parents, and guardians may request complete deletion of their account, study history, voice recordings, and notebook archives at any time by contacting [email protected]. Requests are fulfilled within 30 days.
